Women’s Center-Youth & Family Services
to host “Love Is Pride” Luncheon
Keynote Speaker Alexander Silva

Stockton, CA: In celebration of Pride Month, the Women’s Center-Youth & Family Services (WCYFS) will host a luncheon, Love is...Pride, on Friday, June 25th from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. As we reopen our doors to the community, Love is Pride! will advocate, educate, and celebrate available opportunities. We acknowledge the complexities and struggles of many LGBTQIA+ participants. Join WCYFS for a day of food, fun, and an inspirational story from our keynote speaker:

Alexander Silva
Assistant Dog Trainer
Central Valley K9

Did you know?

Studies show that intimate partner violence is as high or even higher in the LGBTQIA+ community and it often goes underreported. Sexual orientation and gender identity are components that may result in a young adult being homeless and there is a higher chance of them experiencing intimate partner violence and sexual assault. Accessing assistance and resources is not always easy for the LGBTQIA+ community, as some of the services available are not equipped to address the very specific needs of this community. Women’s Center-Youth and Family Services is a safe place for all, regardless of age, race, gender or sexual orientation and we would like the LGBTQIA+ community to know that our doors are always open to all.

Women’s Center-Youth & Family Services is San Joaquin County’s primary provider of free, confidential shelter and services specifically designed to meet the needs of homeless and runaway youth and victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking. Each year the agency serves more than 20,000 individuals through its direct services and community outreach.
