These suggestions may help you be able to leave quickly if you are in danger:

  • Decide who you will call if you feel threatened or in danger.
  • Decide where you will go if you need a safe place.
  • Decide what arrangements you will make to ensure the safety of your children.
  • Save some money for cab or bus fare for emergency transportation to a safe place.
  • Keep an extra set of keys to your house and car.
  • Make a list of emergency phone numbers.
  • Hide a change of clothing for you and your children.
  • Pack all of the medications you need.
  • Know where all of your important papers and records are so that you can find them in a hurry.
  • Consider keeping some clothing, medications, important papers, keys and some cash at a friend’s house.
  • Practice traveling to the location that you have chosen as a safe place.

  • Client appointments are available by phone.
  • Court accompaniment will be on a case-by-case basis at this time. 
  • We are still available to assist with any urgent temporary restraining order (TRO) needs over the phone during business hours (209) 941-2611.

  • WCYFS’ Youth Drop-In Center is closed to the public, but WCYFS will continue to provide food to youth clients in need. Youth clients are able to pick up food at the California Street Office from 11:00 AM - 3:00 PM, Monday through Friday.
